The Governor of Georgia announced today that specific improvements are being made to assist organizations in getting fast loans to complete public works projects. The new fast loans will be going to companies in order to improve the existing water and sewer projects that are ongoing. The new fast loans will be made available shortly and carry competitive rates. It is expected that these fast loans will be taken advantage of in record numbers, which means that citizens of the state will be able to enjoy cleaner water and better sewer facilities in much less time than originally thought. The Executive Committee announced approval on the fast loans today.”Infrastructure improvements increase the quality of life for Georgia citizens, and they help cities and counties create jobs and promote economic development,” said Governor Sonny Perdue. “I’m pleased these investments are being made in water and sewer infrastructure.”"GEFA’s loan programs are a tangible commitment by Governor Perdue and the General Assembly to assist local governments across the state with their efforts to provide clean water and sewer improvements,” said GEFA Executive Director Chris Clark. “In addition to the public’s health and safety, these projects are critical to a community’s ability to prosper economically.”
